Up until I bought my iPad I’d always created art using traditional materials – pencils, pen, colouring pens & pencils, paint. I actually created a fair bit of digital art, especially quotes in a modern calligraphy style.

Creating digital art for me has a different skill set to using regular materials. I typically draw in pencil, then overlay with pen or paint (then rub the pencil out). With ‘digital ink’, it’s like using a pencil (especially when using the Apple Pencil)…I can erase if I make a mistake.

There are many different programs that can be used, I personally like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.  There are different tools as in brushes, pencils, textures etc, but my favourite really is the regular brushes that I can produce the modern lettering style.
